 The Wired Bonsai

What is a wired Bonsai

As with most things in life, the simple bonsai tree is not without controversy. There are differing options on how to properly groom, train and display the bonsai

There are even discussions on the proper names and definitions of the various styles of the bonsai. Despite this, there is one thing that all can agree on.

It's extremely hard to see a bonsai and not be immediately caught in the bonsai experience. The stark beauty of a properly displayed bonsai is almost beyond description. But what if you can't grow a bonsai?

Whether or not it's a physical issue or the "brown thumb" syndrome, some people find it impossible to grow a bonsai. Some people have found that they or someone in their household is allergic to either the bonsai plant, the soil or the fertilizers used to grow the tree.

So growing a bonsai is not an option for them. Others, despite their best efforts, simply cannot grow plants. For some reason everything they plant ends up a shriveled mess.

Thankfully there is an option for these people and many others who want to explore another option with the bonsai tree. There is an ever expanding collection of "Wired Bonsai" trees. A wired bonsai tree is an artificial bonsai tree that has been hand crafted by very talented artisans.

The entire tree, base, trunk, branches and leaves are all formed from bent wires. With some of the wired bonsai trees the artist has used a combination of different colored wires to dramatically enhance the tree. The visual effect of the wired bonsai can be enhanced with lighting, making the wired bonsai a focal point in any home.

To alleviate any confusion, a wired bonsai and wiring a bonsai are not the same thing. When growing a natural bonsai, the grower can use wires to help train the bonsai as it grows.

This is done on natural trees after pruning. this process is known as "wiring the bonsai". A "Wired Bonsai" is best described as an artful creation of an artificial bonsai tree, made mostly of wire.

The Wired Bonsai is a wonderful option for those who can't grow a Bonsai and for those who want to expand their bonsai experience.
